THE HISTORY
The Motocross of Nations (formerly the Motocross Des Nations) , There is no event like it in the world, the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations. As far back as 1947 when a British team won the event at the Wassenaar circuit in The Netherlands this race has grown into a massive celebration of the best riders in the World. Each year the many nations come together for what is our Olympics of motocross.Back in the 1950’s and 60s it was Sweden and Great Britain who dominated this event, before the Belgians started their amazing run of victories. Winning their first in 1948 and their last in 2013 the Belgian team have won 15 times.Of course after the Belgium era of domination came the might of Team USA, as the American took the event by storm in 1981 and in the last 31 years have won 22 times.Riders like Ricky Johnson, David Bailey, Jeff Ward, Johnny O’Mara, Mike Kiedrowski, Jeff Emig, Jeremy McGrath, Jeff Stanton and many more made this event their own. Then came the era of Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Villopoto, James Stewart and Ryan Dungey, it was an unstoppable force that was not often broken. It has been the American team that has really brought glamour to this event, as they came in their numbers, huge budgets and total professionalism.
In 2006, We had the pleasure of attending Matterly Basin in England and it was a surreal experience, but the following year in 2007 the MXoN was held at Budds Creek, MD USA, the First MXoN in the USA since the famous Unidilla, NY race in 1987. The Dominance put on by Ryan Villopoto, Ricky Carmichael, and Tim Ferry was amazing with RV winning his motos on a 250f against a field of world class 450 riders. Its an event that will forever be etched in history and the memories of those who attended the event.
In 2010 Andrew Short, Ryan Dungey and Trey Canard brought home the Win in the 3rd MXoN in the USA, at Lakewood, CO
Fast forward to 2018, the USA team has not won since 2011 in France and the US has sent our all star 3 riders to bring home the Trophy

# 25 Eli Tomac - MX1 Class - Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450
Tomac the 2017 & 2018 US National Outdoor 450 Champion has been absent from the MXoN for a number of years and is looking to make the US team on top of the podium at RedBud
# 26 Aaron Plessinger - MX2 Class - Star Racing Factory Yamaha YZ250F
Plessinger, the 2018 US National Outdoor 250 Champion, and winner of the July 4th National at RedBud is a rookie for the event and afterword will move to the 450 class, but just before he is making his last 250 race the biggest one of his career, if the weather gets rainy look for AP to beat a few more 450 riders because the OH native can ride the mud with the best of them.
# 27 Justin Barcia - Open Class - Factory Yamaha YZ450F
Barcia makes a appearance again on the USA team and is also very quick at the RedBud circuit. Look for the #27 to get great starts and dig deep for a Open class win for the US.
