Race Report : Dutch - Jacob Bergonia Memorial

This weekend at Dutch Sport park had special meaning, as riders, friends and family gathered for the Jacob Bergonia Memorial Shootout, and special thanks to Charlie "Diffy Smooth" Burgess for promoting the event, getting sponsors to donate prises and putting on a special surprise for Jacob's family, by riding Jacob's bike to the lead on the first lap, their reaction was one of pride and excitement.

The C Class Shootout race had 25 riders vying for the win, and after some early shuffling and some fading during the 20-min moto, #738 Trey Gibson took the top spot on his KTM, and in the process was rewarded with a set of TLB gear. # 212 Noah Tinkham took second on his KTM, and #26 Jakob Glassman rounded out the podium on his KTM making it a clean sweep for Kronreif, Trunkenpolz in Mattighofen Brand (Yes thats what KTM Stands for)

In the A&B Extreme race Austin Wagner took the early lead, but was derailed (literally) by his chain spitting off his Honda, handing the lead and eventual win to the # 98 of Matthew Carpenter on his KTM. The real battle was for 2nd place as #333 Joshua Taylor, stalked the #711 of Andrew Ramsey for 18 of the 20 min moto, when Ramsey made a mistake and Taylor slipped by to take the 2nd place spot, the track was challenging and the long moto took its toll on the riders, with the weather in the 80s it became apparent who was fit and ready, and who still needed more seat time.

Thanks to Dutch Sport Park, the staff and Track crew for putting on a great race day.
